The Blue Arrow
It is often like this we spot the Common Kingfisher : an electric blue flash flying fast above the water, while emitting a short call. One of the most beautiful european bird is also an excellent fisher. Perched on a branch, above the water, it scans the surface to spot any little fish. Once detected, it plunges head first and comes back few seconds later on its perch, with its prey in the beak.
I did this illustration for the month of April of my 2024 calendar.
