Pets or wild animals portraits
I create original art commissions with watercolors, on vegan (gelatin-free) 100% cotton 300 gsm paper. I use extra fine watercolors of professional quality, which guarantee lightfast (permanent) pigment, meaning the artwork will not fade for years.
By commission me to paint your beloved pet or your favorite wild animal, you will be sure to become the owner of a unique artwork, hand-drawn and hand-painted by myself, according to your wishes. I create with a lot of care and I spend several hours creating an illustration. I will listen your suggestions during the process of creation.
I don’t propose any framing service, but I advise you to frame the artwork with a mat board frame. It will ensure a better conservation of the artwork by avoiding a direct contact of the pigments with the glass, while being more aesthetic. I highly recommend to avoid an exposure to direct sunrays.

- Size and number of animals
A5 (14,8 x 21 cm – 5.8 x 8.3 inches) : 1 medium-sized animal (dog, cat,…) maximum or 2 small animals (bunnies, rodents,…) maximum.
A4 (21 x 29,7 cm – 8.3 x 11.7 inches) : 2 large animals maximum (big dog, horse,…) ; 3 medium-sized animals maximum ; 5 small animals maximum.
A3 (29,7 x 42 cm – 11.7 x 16.5 inches) : available from 2 animals or more depending on their size ; 3 large animals maximum ; 5 medium-sized animals maximum ; 7 small animals maximum.
Special sizes possible : square (21 x 21 cm – 8.3 x 8.3 inches ; or 30 x 30 cm – 11.8 x 11.8 inches) or lengthened.
I accept to paint any existing and living species (pets, domestic or wild animals). I do not accept fantastic creatures, chimeric animals, humans, vehicles…
- Pictures I need
I need several pictures of the animal(s), on which we can see as many body parts as possible and from different angles.
If a specific picture is good enough (definition, shooting, pose of the animal), I can directly use it to draw the portrait. If it is not the case, I can use several pictures to create a position, that we will have specify together beforehand.
Please note I accept only natural poses.
- Background
The background can simply be a colored watercolor wash or include natural elements (leaves, flowers, shells, etc) or artificial elements (window or door sill, chair, dog basket, etc).
If you don’t have any ideas for the background, I can guide you.
Please note that the size of the background elements must be adapted to the size of the animal(s).
I can also add items linked to the animal(s) (favorite toy, blanket, plush,…) whether there is a background or not.
If you don’t want a background, the animal(s) will be painted on a white background, on which I can add watercolor splashes of the color of your choise or matching the animal(s).
